SAP S/4HANA has been providing S/4HANA 1511, S/4HANA 1610, and S/4HANA 1709 in units of 11 months since it provided simplified logistics through S/4HANA 1503. S/4HANA 1809 will be launched in September 2018 with an annual plan to deliver innovation from S/4HANA 1709.
Characteristics of S/4HANA 1709
1. Digital Core Evolution: LoB areas such as APO, CRM and EPM have been integrated as they have been embedded into Digital Core. It is integrated with the Internet of Things, Networks, Big Data & Social and provides the foundation for digital transformation.
2. Integration between S/4HANA and SAP Leonardo: The integration scenario between S/4HANA and SAP Leonardo is proposed.

Read-only workload can be performed on Active/Active SAP HANA System Replication (HSR) to enable SAP Fiori Application and Analytical drive.
SAP S/4HANA Scale-out: Scale-out, which used to support BW, supports S/4HANA for large data processing (e.g. IS-U Billing, IS-U Invoking, FI-CA support)
4. SAP Fiori Evolution: SAP Fiori 2.0 offers Me-Area and Notification.
5. SAP Co-Pilot: SAP Fiori is planning to deliver interactive business.
